  1. Player development in baseball
  2. Relationship between the Major & Minor Leagues
  3. The effect of winning and losing at the minor league level on individual players’ success at the major league level
  4. Winning at the AA & AAA levels (the two closest to the majors) begets winning at the major league level.
  5. The factors that tend to lead to winning (as defined as making the league playoffs) at the AA & AAA levels are not conducive to the successful development of prospects.
  6. Losing (or missing the AA or AAA playoffs) is key to fostering an environment in which prospects can excel.
