Money appears to have a large role in our society; without it, a lot is out of reach. It is valuable in various ways, even when we can not physically see it. In modern society, we are to have blind faith in the government and the banking system. We have faith that our money is being handled in the proper manner. If this was not so, then we would all be hiding money under our mattresses. Although, I have no clue what happens in the banks or how they take care of our money. I had believed money was a simple concept, that we either have some or do not. However, upon reading this assignment and comparing the Yap Fei with the US/France gold trade in 1933 and the Brazilian cruzeros, it all appeared similar. No one actually sees their money being transferred when we get paid; we do not get a check or even cash. It is all directly transferred to our bank accounts, and we simply have to trust that we received more money.
