If a primary caretaker has a negative attitude toward his child, it increases the risk that his child will grow up hostile toward others. It is not just aggression toward others that results from child abuse; a large number of children raised by abusive parents also harm themselves. The negative behavior occurs because the children did not learn appropriate techniques for handling life’s disappointments. When raised without proper coping skills, individuals are more likely to act “inappropriately” than if they have developed more reasonable approaches. As reported by Dr. Geoffrey Dahmer in “The Bully Papers,” the effect of poor parenting is that everyone gets the child they deserve.

Almost perfect, Zip. That last “everyone . . . they” pair spoils your perfect record.

Now that you’ve fixed the problems, I would invite you to creatively avoid them in future. For example, because they invite so many pronouns, eliminate needless “if/then” statements. The first sentence doesn’t need one and is better phrased to highlight the actual subject:

A negative attitude from a primary caretaker increases the risk that a child will grow up hostile.

    Or

A child raised by a caretaker with a hostile attitude is more likely to grow up hostile to others.

    You get the idea.
